The PC-12-47 was certified in 2005, and it entered the market in 2007. The PC-12-47 is one of the "legacy models” which also includes its predecessor, the PC-12-45. Pilatus brought significant improvements to the -47, both to the avionics and an improved EIS with an incorporated engine monitoring system (ECMS). On the outside, the improvements include new winglets, a new empennage dorsal fin, new ailerons for better handling, and LED lighting. The aircraft is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67B engine of approximately 1,200 shp, as well as a Hartzell four-bladed propeller. Since its start of production, there have been approximately 840 PC-12-47 aircraft built.
